DIY MFA is an educational platform and community founded by Gabriela Pereira, a graduate of The New School’s traditional MFA program. After realizing that the high cost, rigid location requirements, and “literary-only” focus of traditional graduate programs excluded many serious writers, she created a “do-it-yourself” alternative designed to provide the same professional rigor within the constraints of real life.
